Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes activities that are prohibited when using the SqDine platform and services. It forms part of our Terms of Service. By using SqDine, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account.
1. Prohibited Content
You must not upload, post, transmit, or otherwise make available any content that:
- Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory.
- Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit.
- Promotes discrimination, hatred, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
- Infringes any intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of any third party.
- Contains malware, spyware, ransomware, or any other malicious code.
- Constitutes unsolicited commercial communications (spam).
- Impersonates any person or entity or misrepresents your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
2. Prohibited Activities
You must not use the Service to:
- Access or attempt to access any system, account, or data that you are not authorised to access.
- Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or security research on SqDine infrastructure without prior written consent.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Use automated bots, scrapers, or crawlers to access the Service at a rate that exceeds normal human usage.
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Service.
- Attempt to overwhelm the Service with excessive requests (denial-of-service attacks).
- Create fake accounts or workspaces for the purpose of abuse, fraud, or circumventing account limits.
- Harvest, collect, or store personal data of other users without their explicit consent.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without SqDine’s written authorisation.
3. Responsible Use of Guest Data
SqDine is designed for legitimate event management. When you add guest contact information to the platform, you are responsible for:
- Having a lawful basis to process that data (e.g. consent, legitimate interest, or contract).
- Using guest contact details only for the purpose for which they were collected.
- Not using SqDine to send unsolicited bulk communications to individuals who have not expressed interest in your events.
- Respecting opt-out and unsubscribe requests from guests promptly.
- Complying with applicable data protection regulations including GDPR and UK GDPR where relevant.
4. Communication Standards
All communications sent via SqDine (invitations, reminders, notifications) must:
- Accurately identify you or your organisation as the sender.
- Include a clear and easy way for recipients to opt out of future communications.
- Not be misleading, deceptive, or contain false information about events.
- Not contain phishing links or redirect recipients to harmful sites.
5. Resource Usage
You agree not to use the Service in a manner that places an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on SqDine's infrastructure. We reserve the right to throttle or restrict usage that degrades the experience for other users.
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of content or activity on SqDine that violates this AUP, please report it to us at abuse@sqdine.com. We investigate all credible reports and take appropriate action.
7. Enforcement
SqDine reserves the right to remove any content, suspend, or permanently terminate any account that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates this AUP. We may report illegal activity to relevant law enforcement authorities. We will cooperate with lawful requests from legal authorities.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
